A scarce edition in the World Library series published between 1880-1899 by Richard Worthington. His publishing house was one of the many in late 19th century New York that produced popular titles and offered them at bargain prices. Naturally, the cost savings came at the expense hf quality materials. Like the others, this edition is printed on low quality acidic paper. The toning is fairly light considering. The front dree end paper is brittle has a two-inch tear on the inside edge. Previous owner's name is written neatly on the front paste down. Boards have edge wear with some color loss to the spine. the head and foot have been reinforced. Binding is solid with no loose pages. [i-iii, 1], 2-379, [380, blank]. Small Octavo (12 x 18 cm.).
